Our Services


PIWAPAN WOMEN'S SHELTER

Shelter Staff are available 24/7 and will provide support and assistance with everything you need to get re-established... personalized safety plans, assistance finding new living accomodations, applying for finincial support, referrals to legal & medical services, assistance with job search and transportation to and from appointments.


24 HOUR CRISIS LINE

1-306-425-4090 The Crisis Line provides help for both men and women who are in crisis; through referrals, support and information sharing. (Collect calls will be accepted)


OUTREACH SERVICES

The Outreach Program provides help for both men and women over the age of 16 seeking support, advocacy, referrals, and educational programming.


FAMILY VIOLENCE & SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES

We offer individual and group support networking, advocacy, education, sharing circles and activities for survivors of sexual assault.


EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS

LA RONGE NATIVE WOMEN'S COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP

Piwapan Women's Centre is a Non profit organization, governed by the La Ronge Native Women's Council Inc. A volunteer board of directors providing services and support to women and children.

The La Ronge Native Women's Council is proud to present two Annual Scholarships. Margaret Beament and Mary Heimbecker are recognized in their foundational work and contributions to the La Ronge Native Women's Council.

Their hard work and dedication gave a voice to those in need. Their vision for change was groundbreaking as they pursued funding for many organizations that still stand in the community. Their commitment to the community and the North continues through the work of the La Ronge Native Women's Council Inc. Their leadership is admirable. Through this scholarship we honour Mary and Margaret and it is our hopes that we can help pave the way for future leaders who are as committed as Mary Heimbecker and Margaret Beament.

Mary Heimbecker Annual Scholarship

The Mary Heimbecker Scholarship will be awarded to a student entering their first year of post secondary studies.

Scholarship amount: $1000.00
Deadline: September 1st

Margaret Beament Annual Scholarship

The Margaret Beament Scholarship will be awarded to a student in their final year of post-secondary studies.

Scholarship amount: $1000.00
Deadline: September 1st

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Our scholarships are open to individuals who meet ALL of the following criteria

1. Must be enrolled fulltime in a recognized post- secondary in studies leading to a to profession or career within the human services field

2. Must reside in or originate from a northern community serviced by the La Ronge Native Women's Council

3. Must express a commitment to providing service in northern Saskatchewan.
