FULL TIME/CASUAL SHELTER WORKERS

Job purpose: Shelter Workers are responsible for the provision of direct services, support, and safety of residents in the shelter, as well as for support and referral services to Crisis Line and Business Line callers.

Core Competencies:
· Robust communication, active listening, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills;

· Exceptional social perceptiveness – awareness of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do;

· Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

· Sound ethical judgment.

· Proficiency in compiling data and developing statistical reports.

· Strong time and task management skills.

· Demonstrated flexibility and effectiveness within a rapidly changing environment.

· Ability to manage stress and remain calm in stressful and/or emotional situations.

Our club is for boys ages 10-18. We do programming every Thursday 5-7PM at Kokums Cabin 1311 La Ronge Avenue.
Napesis Club is about empowering and encouraging young boys in transitioning into young men. Kokum’s Cabin provides a safe and for them to just be themselves.

Iskwesis Club is a girl’s empowerment group that seeks to provide a safe place for young women and girls between the ages of 10 and 18.
At Iskwesis Club, we strive to learn new skills and strengthen existing skills. Iskwesis Club is a place where learning is meaningful and fun. Activities include information gathering and sharing, learning how to problem solve, express and cope with our human feelings and concerns in a welcoming, non-judgmental atmosphere. Promoting healthy interactions through social networking, and most importantly having fun.
