MMIWG2S Awareness Walk (Official Video)

On May 5, 2025, Piwapan Wellness Centre hosted its annual Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirited Awareness Walk. We were honoured to see so many people gather in remembrance of those we lost. It would not have been possible without everyone who participated and showed their support.

Piwapan would like to extend a huge thank you to: our partners, LLRIB Health Services and North Sask Victim Services, the La Ronge RCMP, La Ronge Regional Fire Department and La Ronge EMS for leading and trailing our walk, the families for attending, we appreciate your presence, words and strength, the Billette family for attending and honouring us with a few words at our gathering, to Aleisha and Ariel of the New Dawn Drum Group for the honor song and helping lead our walk with the honour of their songs and drums, the Town of La Ronge Mayor Joe Hordyski, Métis leader Laura Burnouf, LLRIB councillor Charlene Venne and Doyle Vermette for their words of support, to our elder, Eleanor Hegland and to the community for attending and supporting the walk, and lastly, to our staff and board of directors of Piwapan Wellness Centre for all the hard work they put into making this happen every year. Words cannot express how grateful we are to all of you, again, Thank you.
