Our Objective for this event is to recognize the women and youth in the area who have contributed to the community in various categories throughout the years. This gala would connect the youth to the women and professionals within the area and give these young people role models that are from the same community, life situations and who faced many challenges to achieve their success.
The awareness of women who have come from harder situations and not only endured such things as residential school, poverty or limited career choices yet survived with grace, commitment to community, and lessons of success and healing will help the young girls and youth in the community understand where they themselves come from, have pride in the community, and understand that contributing to the community comes in many forms and one person can make a difference in many lives.
The Planning Committee is made up of volunteers and staff from agencies within the Lac La Ronge area. We are service providers and women who believe in the communities we work for and the clients we work with.
Those being nominated must be 18 and over (except for the youth category) and be a member of one of the following communities: Air Ronge, La Ronge, Hall Lake, Southend, Brabant, Sucker River, Stanley Mission, Grandmother’s Bay and Little Red. We will only be accepting one nomination per person.
